"Fascial Release" — How Much Do You Know About It?

What exactly is fascia?

Fascia is a network of connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, nerves, and organs. In the past, fascia might not have been considered important in the scientific or medical fields. However, with advancements, we’ve discovered that fascia can transmit force, influence muscle function, and adapt to pressure. Research also shows that fascia helps in sensing body position and is related to chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia.

As our understanding of fascia deepens, its role in physical therapy, sports science, and emotional health has become increasingly recognized, reshaping our comprehension of body function and pain management.

Fascia remains an "ongoing" topic in the scientific field, with many unresolved mysteries. Discussions continue about the specific mechanisms of fascia and how it interacts with other body systems, such as the nervous and immune systems.
