"Lack of time" is one of the most common obstacles preventing people from sticking to a fitness routine.
But working out, whether at home or at the gym, doesn’t need to take hours.
Here are 6 simple little hacks I use to cut my workout time in half.
1) Set Intention - Commit to complete your workout within a set timeframe (say 30 minutes), or schedule something afterward so there is a clear finishing line – e.g. feeding my dog breakfast which is super important to me!
2) Stick to the Plan - Avoid adding unnecessary exercises just because you feel like it or saw someone else doing them. Stick to your planned routine.
3) Plug In - Use headphones and listen to music. This signals to others that you're not open for casual conversations.
4) All Disruptions Off - Don’t check WhatsApp messages, scroll Instagram, or watch TV during rest times. Focus!
5) Compound Movements - Compound exercises that work multiple muscle groups at once, like squats or deadlifts, instead of isolated movements.
6) Ask to Work In - For those at the gym, if someone is monopolizing a machine, don’t hesitate to ask if you can work in. If they say no, be flexible and move to another exercise to keep your workout flowing. I used to be very shy about this – until I realised it is costing me valuable time!
With these tips in mind, you can easily incorporate fitness into your busy life, that means more time for your family, work or doing something you love!
Keep up the great work, and let’s go!

P.S. In January 2025, I’ll be announcing an exciting new holistic health project I’ll be launching for the very first time. Stay tuned!
